CENTRAL LIBRARY - RULES AND REGULATION
GENERAL RULES
Keep quiet at all times in and around the library.
Show your valid Institute ID at the entrance.
No phone calls allowed inside the library.
Leave bags and folders at the luggage counter outside.
Do not leave belongings overnight; the library is not responsible for lost items.
Show all items to security when exiting the library.
Do not enter staff-only areas without permission.
Damaging books will result in a fine equal to the latest edition's cost.
No eating, drinking, smoking, or sleeping inside.
No loud devices allowed.
No seat reservations.
Do not re-shelve books; leave them on the tables.
Library equipment must not be moved without approval.
Breaking rules may lead to penalties.
BORROWING PROCEDURE
Borrowing hours: Weekdays, 9:00 AM – 4:50 PM.
Only registered students can use borrowing services.
A valid college ID is required.
All materials must be properly checked out.
You may borrow up to:
Students: 7 books for two weeks.
Faculty: 7 books for four weeks.
Other staff: 7 books for two weeks.
Return items on or before the due date.
No borrowing on behalf of others.
Overdue books block access to services.
Return reserve materials on time.
MEMBERSHIP RULES
Membership is open to all students, faculty, and staff.
A valid institutional ID is required.
Members must follow all library rules.
Privileges may be suspended if rules are broken.
Failure to make a library card will result in a fine.
DAMAGE / LOSS OF MATERIALS
Users are responsible for damage or loss.
Check book condition before borrowing.
Lost books must be replaced or paid for within 30 days.
Recovered books remain library property.
Replacement cost + extra % will be charged depending on publication year.

DISCIPLINARY RULES
Library Committee may suspend users who break rules.
Staff can remove anyone causing disturbance.
Access is for registered users only.
Others may use the library only with permission.
NB: These rules and regulations are subject to review by the library committee from time to time.
